Sujeong's Comment Brings to Light the Double Standards on Female Idols

In front of me they'd tell me to eat well and take care of my health, but
they only like someone who's skinny and pretty.
They would curse too

The member who mentioned that is Lovelyz's Ryu Sujeong

Seems like double standards is a word that hits deep

1. It's true.. They say, "Take care of your health" "Eat well", but if [the idols] gain weight then they'd be like, "Why did you gain weight?".. They're especially more severe to female idols..ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

2. Fans would say, "Eat well," and non-fans would ask, "Why did you gain weight?"...I think. Of course it could be the other way around

3. The double standards are really serious... They'd say, "Make sure to eat." But if [the idols] gain weight they'd say, "You're not taking care of your body. What to do...".. It's hard to find someone who says, "You look healthy," and that's really sad

4. It's not double standards, and I suppose the person who says, "Eat well" and the person who swears at her are different people...
∟ 22 Of course they're differentㅠㅠㅠ However, she hears two things at once, so it would feel contradictory. I feel sorry for celebrities sob sob
∟ 333 Fans who actually wish [their idols] eat well don't even tell them that they've gained weight... I can't believe they're cursing at her for gaining weightㅜㅜ

5. But even fans say that kind of thing... They're fans who also criticize their idols ㅠㅠ Who do they think they are... I would like my singer to only be healthy....

6. That's what I'm sayingㅠㅠDieting is dieting, and even if they looked a little chubbier than before, articles asking "Did she gain weight?" would come out and when their skin is damaged, articles would come out too saying that their skin isn't good, and pictures would go around. It's really an extreme jobㅠㅠ

7. I suppose the person who tells her to eat well is a fan, the person who tells her to lose weight or whatever is not a fan and is a different public

8. Last time, Lovelyz were doing a V Live and Sujeong said she wanted to eat a lot of food, and she has gotten angry because of comments saying "Sujeongie has to lose weight, no ㅋㅋ" "Bbangddeokie, stop eating". Of course, it could be that those weren't fans, but even so, it seems that it's true that the body standards for female idols are severe...

9. Celebrities hear two version of things, so they would feel that way, but the speaker of those two things would actually be different...ㅠㅠ The people who curse at her for gaining weight would still curse at her if she were too skinny...

10. So what if the person who says those are different? The person who hears it is still the same..

11. I don't know about male idols but I see a lot of cases where fans of female idols tell their idols to lose weight...

12. Even just watching Lovelyz on V App, people would say, "You've gained weight~" "You've eaten every food here~" Lots of weird commentsㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I think they would've been really stressed....

13. People were spamming the V App comment section telling her to eat, and she did eat the food in front of her, then they told her to stop eating, so of course she'd say that..ㅠㅠ So upsetting...

14. Of course they're different people, but the person who hears it eventually won't be able to think of anything else other than the name 'public'

15. No matter if it's a female idol or a male idol, I wish they'd eat three times a day with healthy food. Idols have dance practice, different from commoners who has to take time off to exercise, so they burn off calories... I just wish that our kids would promote for a long time healthily... I hear them saying that they eat one meal a day and I cry because I'm upsetㅜㅜ
